Sufjan Stevens

We're not an MP3 blog, but I thought this was worth breaching protocol for. I've just encountered Sufjan Stevens, an amazing singer-songwriter who's currently engaged in the task of documenting all 50 states of America in album form (he's finished 2). His beautiful song Casimir Pulaski Day, just entered my list of 'nuanced American works on religion' alongside Craig Thompson's Blankets.

Yes! I'm just starting to get into Come on Feel the Illinoise! a track from which can be heard on my new year's mix - a high honour indeed.
